Yaka helmet found in the southeastern Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa along the river (Wanba). Very old mask with raffia around the face and the hairstyle decorated with different significant color. People of warriors and great workers.
It is a helmet worn by young people who were removed from the village and who went to the forest for a certain period to be circumcised. The yakas are varied, this helmet is also worn for initiation ceremonies and can be seen by its curved nose.
Casque Yaka trouvé dans le sud-est de la République démocratique du Congo en Afrique centrale le long de la rivière (Wanba). Masque très ancien avec du raphia autour du visage et une coiffure décorée de différentes couleurs significatives (des guerriers et de grands ouvriers).
C'est un casque porté par des jeunes qui sont partis du village et sont allés dans la forêt pendant une certaine période pour se faire circoncire. Les yakas sont variés, ce casque est également porté lors des cérémonies d'initiation et se reconnait par son nez incurvé.
