Statue Kuyu


People of Central Africa settled in eastern Gabon, in the center and west of the DRC.
Statue placed on a helm head, the bird on the head means a messenger.
White kaolin means death, the red color on the body means life.
This statue was used for ancestor worship.
The wearer put it on the head during the ceremonies.

Le kaolin blanc signifie la mort, la couleur rouge sur le corps signifie la vie.
Cette statue était utilisee pour le culte des ancetres.
