Statue Kuyu

People of Central Africa settled in eastern Gabon, in the center and west of the DRC.
Statue placed on a helm head, the bird on the head means a messenger.
White kaolin means life, the red color on the body means death.
This statue was used for ancestor worship.
The wearer put it on the head during the ceremonies.

Statue posee sur une tete heaume,l’oiseau sur la tete signifie un messager.
Le kaolin blanc signifie la vie, la couleur rouge sur le corps signifie la mort.
Cette statue était utilisee pour le culte des ancetres.
